This can be a phone call or an in-person meeting. We’ll talk about the specifics of your project such as the subject, size, medium (acrylics on canvas, gouache or acrylics on paper, collage, drawing, etc), timeline, budget, then I’ll put together a proposal and contract specifically for your project.

Once the contract is signed and retainer settled, I’ll start researching elements for the artwork and put together a mood board and/or notes. Then I’ll sketch ideas and work out the composition. At this point, depending on how involved you want to be in the creative process, I’ll share the sketches and mood board with you or go ahead and begin the work.

During this stage I’ll transfer the sketch to canvas or paper, put together a color palette, and start painting. Depending on the size and how complex the project is, it usually takes around three to five sessions to complete the artwork, and sometimes more than one iteration to identify all the problems then work them out.

Once the work is done, it’s time to deliver the finished artwork! I will contact you to let you know, then we’ll settle the final payment and arrange the delivery. If you are local, I can bring the artwork to you or you can pick it up. Otherwise I can package and ship the artwork (the shipping terms will have been part of our initial conversation).
